Hollywood, CA (August 2, 2012) While Charlize Theron and the rest of the free
world have expressed their sympathy for Robert Pattinson in the wake of the
Kristen Stewart cheating scandal, a dating site that facilitates affairs
says the majority of their members actually side with Rupert Saunders. In a
poll of more than 12,500 of their female members, AshleyMadison.com said a
resounding 78% sided with Team Rupert in the controversy. Ironically, when
asked which of the two Brits they themselves would prefer to have an affair
with, 64% were still on Team Edward.
The recent scandal has caused industry insiders to debate over whether it
could impact the number of viewers who turn up to watch the third
installment of the Twilight franchise, but they may have overlooked a new
demographic who will now be attracted to the film. 68% of AshleyMadison.com
members polled said they had not seen the first two movies but would be
interested in checking out Twilight Eclipse in the wake of the affair.
Since running the poll on AshleyMadison.com, #TeamRupert has become a
trending topic online. According to Noel Biderman, Founder of the dating
site designed for those already in relationships, the Hollywood harlot is
not much different from the average woman. “22% of women surveyed admitted
to having had an affair at work, with more than 80% of those women
specifically hooking up with their bosses or someone more senior, a la
K-Stew. There is another side to this debate so don’t be surprised if you
see people showing up to the Twilight premiere rocking TeamRupert t-shirts.”
